YOUR FAIRYTALE ENDS HERE DARLING // A THOUGHT

A Thought
By Sheryl, just Sheryl.

When was the last time you walked out of your house without worrying that your skirt was too high? That it would attract the wrong kind of attention? That boys would whistle as you walked past? That they would think that you were asking for it? That you were desperate? That you're a whore? That you deserve what you get? That it's not they're fault, because they can't control themselves? That you should be more considerate? That if your skirt is too high and you get raped, its YOUR fault; not THEIRS? That this is the end of your fairytale darling, because the monsters have found a way in, and it was your fault for opening the gate. No theirs.

This post isn't much of a post, but rather A Thought. I'm sorry (not really) that this isn't like my normal posts but I felt as if it was important to post this; more for myself than anyone else.

YOU'LL MAKE IT // EXAM EDITION

If you're like me and have exams coming up then let's form a pray circle and hope that we pass another year in hell (why aren't you studying anyway?!)

School can be hard to live through, especially with social life (whatever that is) and part time jobs getting in the way. This can make maintaining good grades a challenging task to fulfil, but have no fear because your instructor's here! (I'm sorry but I had to make it rhyme somehow)

These are my top three tips (yes only three!) to surviving the exams without dying on the way through;

Tip #1; Start at the beginning

Start making notes for your subjects from day one, this will make revision time a lot easier and less messy since all you'll have to do is go through them while everyone else around you will be going crazy trying to make theirs! I use the program Evernote to make my notes, which you can find on the app store.

Tip #2; Rest

I cannot stress enough of how important it is for you to actually get some sleep! Studies show (yes, I'm bring science back) that whatever students study after 11 o'clock has no impact on what they already know; they gain no new knowledge from what they've just done. It's better to get up early in the morning and get some work done while your fresh than to cramp things in your head at midnight which you may not even remember by morning let alone exam time.

Tip #3; Go further

This means to do the little bit of extra prep then necessary. Read a texts that your teacher covered in class but didn't say in particular that it will be on the exam, usually teachers may include a question relating to things they haven't mentioned to be in the exam but have covered in class.

These were my top three tips for exam time, I know there are heaps more out there but I personally find these three the most useful out of all of them.

Let me know in the comments below on your most given exam tip!

THINGS I WANT, MORE THAN I WANT YOU

Can you believe it's November already? It's amazing how quickly time flies by and before you know it November is greeting us with open arms (that sounded too cheesy, soz)

Hence, the reason why I decided to do a November lust list, which includes all items that I really want this month. I'm not going to go through every item individually because I don't want to make a super long post, however I will give you the general gist of what items I want and why I want them.

At the moment I am absolutely loving these FROST sunglasses from Sportgirl! I love the classic chic look these glasses give off, and I cannot wait to get my hands on them. Moschino is one of those brands which I have a love-hate relationship with, I love their simple products however I absolutely loath their overdramatic products like they showcased in their SS15 collection. This simple tee is defiantly a product from Moschino that made it into my good books!

I may be a bit late on this trend but I'm loving these snake textured slip ons from ZARA! I think these shoes are one of those items that would rock any street styled outfit and I can totally imagine myself wearing them with a pair of boyfriend jeans and plain white tee (preferably Moschino!) I'm usually not the one to go for platform shoes, however these ones from Cute Kawii are so cute that I could not resist! These platform shoes can be styled up or down and would look good at any high-class party or even just going to your friends; they work no matter what! You can also get a 10% discount on them with the discount code 'sheryl10' so get buying!

It is no secret that I'm a Mulberry lover, in fact if I had to pick my favourite bag brand they would be it without a doubt and their Cara seems to have won my heart! I love how personal this bag actually is to Cara Delevingne, from the 'made in England' at the bottom of the bag to the little gold lions on the bag itself; this bag is screaming Cara!

Lastly on my list is Topshop lipsticks. These two lipsticks are my current favourites from Topshop because the colours are so vibrant and juicy that it makes me wish it was fall in Australia instead of Spring!

Let me know in the comments below what you're favourites are for the season!

The Little Mule

The Little Library

Acne Studios
Elizabeth Street

As you may know from my previous blogpost and vlog, which you can find here, I spent a day at the city goofing around, getting lost and having a great time not so long ago. Hence the reason why I thought I'd share some pictures with you guys and write a quick little blogpost on my time there. I know no one likes a long draggy post about what they did, they would rather just view the pictures (including me) so I'll try my best to not make this post lengthy and boring!

We went to a lot of places while we were there but I just want to talk about some my favourites, including The Little Mule, Raw Trader and The Little Library.

The Little Mule is a cute little cafe on Somerset Place and it's safe to say that they're food is just as good as the place itself! The food at Little Mule was delicious, we ordered smashed avocado on sourdough with feta and lemon; which I highly recommend! Not only was the food healthy, but it was also reasonably  priced for what they were giving. Overall, Little Mule is defiantly a place I can see myself going back to in the near future.

Next, we headed to Raw Trader. This place is a vegan desert cafe, and all they're deserts are healthy and made using natural products. Personally, I think the place looked amazing, since it was very cozy and modern, however I regret what I brought (Lemon Slice) since it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be. I think this was more my fault than theirs since the Lemon Slice wasn't exactly my cup of tea (I should have gone for something with coco in it!) But I know I'm going to be going there again and maybe trying something more my style....some more chocolaty!

The Little Library is the cutest little bookshop you'll ever see! Not only are the books there free, but you can also find some really good classics there! The idea of the book store is to either borrow a book, or trade in, so that you can get a new book but at the same time get rid of your old one that you may not want anymore. The Little Library is a place that every booklover should check out for their new read!

Let me know in the comments below whether you've been to any of these places and if you know any good vegan places in Melbourne that I should check out!

MISS, I'M IN LOVE // MISSREBEL

Recently I stumbled upon a brand called Missrebel, and praise the lord for that! Missrebel's clothing is amazing, from their edgy ripped jeans to their girly ivory kimonos, Missrebel has something for every fashionista out there! After seeing how awesome their clothes are, I simply could not resist sharing some (I pretty much want the whole website) of my favourite items from their website with you all!

I'm not going to go through what I love about every item I have picked from Missrebel, however I do want to share what I love about these three items;

I love how this coat makes you look up-to-date with all fashion trends so effortlessly! This coat is an essential in every girl's closet because it's so modern and can easily be worn during the day or night. I would style this coat with white tee, black ripped jeans and some elegant black ankle booties.

If I love anything more than Kate Moss, then it has to be a jumper with her name on it! As most of you may be aware, Reformation once released a jumper which said 'Kate Moss and some pizza slices' on it and this jumper was a major hit within the fashion world. However with a high jumper comes a high price, and when I saw how similar this jumper from Missrebel looks to the reformation one, I thought it would also be very pricy, but boy was I wrong! This jumper was no where near as pricy as the one from Reformation and this jumper looks just as good (if not better!) than the Reformation one. And to make things better it also has some of my favourite 90's models on it! I would style this jumper with midnight blue ripped jeans and some black hi-top converse.

Ah black ripped jeans, a must have in all closets. I personally like ripped jeans that are moderately ripped so that I can also wear them in winter and these jeans from Missrebel are a perfect example of that! The holes aren't too big, which means that these jeans can be worn in winter and summer very easily! I would style these jeans with a varsity jacket, graphic tee and snake-textured slip ons.

Let me know in the comments down below which items you like the most from Missrebel and what's your style like!

Love,
Sheryl x
